Bundled Management: Bundled Management is the process of aggregating spends from 2 or more OEMs across a commodity or product for the purpose of leveraging the aggregate total to improve an OEMs Total Acquisition Cost. The leverage that is created through aggregation can yield improvements in piece price, time to market, pay-terms, improve availability/allocation, and reduced cost of quality.

Industry Analysis: An industry analysis is a “market assessment” tool designed to provide a business with an idea of the complexity of a particular industry. Industry analysis involves reviewing the economic, political, and market factors that influence the way the industry develops. Major factors can include the power wielded by suppliers and buyers, the condition of competitors, and the likelihood of new market entrants.

Technology GAP or Needs Analysis: This is the technique for determining the steps to be taken in moving from a current technology state to a desired future-state. It begins with (1) listing of characteristics factors (such as attributes, competencies, performance levels) of the present situation , (2) cross-lists factors required to achieve the future objectives , and (3) highlights the “gaps” that exist and need to be “filled.”

Roadmap Analysis: KISMET’s roadmap process is the documentation of the future features of a product. In this process, KISMET works with an organization in the creation of a product “wish list” of features and functions. KISMET’s deliverables will be the technology and supply base options capable of delivering the desired features of the future.

Total Acquisition Cost (TAC): TAC is defined as the sum of all costs incurred in ordering, receiving, and carrying (holding) a component. This also includes shortage cost (expedites) as well as warranty returns (quality issues). Sourcing decisions made on “Piece Price” instead of TAC could result in inefficiencies in managing costs.

Landed Cost Analysis: (LCA): LCA is the process of determining the best location to source products. Multiple TACs will be performed allowing for comparative statistics in the evaluation of the best sourcing destination for products. KISMET’s LCA process insures that products are sourced from the right locations based on an OEM’s short-term and long-term requirements.

Sourcing Strategy Development (SSD): SSD is the process of creating a sourcing strategy for a component or finished good. This process leads to the creation of a value chain as it requires the coordination of Marketing, Engineering, and Procurement as it relates to the past, present, and future of the component. The process will include the definition of product roadmaps, vetting of technology/technology substitutes, vetting of suppliers, component/supplier segmentation, and culminating with the negotiation of costs for the component or finish good. SSDs are ideal for organizations embarking into new technology as well as organizations needing to “refresh” their current strategy.

Request for Quote (RFQ): RFQ is a standard business process whose purpose is to invite suppliers into a bidding process to bid on specific products or services. An RFQ typically involves more than the price per item. Information like payment terms, quality level per item or contract length are possible to be requested during the bidding process. The removal of ambiguity through the RFQ process is extremely important in generating interest from suppliers.

Competitive Benchmark Analysis: Benchmark analysis is the process of comparing an organization’s practices and performance measures with that of its most successful competitors. If an organization is curious about how it performs versus “best-in-class” companies within the Electronics Industry, a Benchmark data is a quick method to learning of potential shortcomings that need to be addressed.

Cost Benefit Analysis: Cost Benefit Analysis helps give an organization an accurate picture of the costs, benefits, and risks associated with a project.
